About the auction

Special preview 4 to 19 February 2022

Saturday 11am to 4pm
Fasanenstrasse 27, 10719 Berlin

Following the very successful auction of prominent works from the collection of the Berliner Sparkasse in our Winter Auctions 2021, more incredible works will come under the hammer. Painting, sculpture, prints, photography and works on paper represent the multi-faceted collection of Berliner Sparkasse.

The collection is characterized by the promotion of young artists, such as the strong scholarship program of the DAAD as well as the newly established Berlin gallery scene at the time. Many works are a reflection of a divided city, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the spirit of new beginnings in the 1990s.

Highlights of this diverse collection are works by Neo Rauch, Peter Halley, Markus Lüpertz, Leiko Ikemura, Gerhard Richter, Rémy Zaugg, Norbert Schwontkowski and Rita McBride.

The proceeds of this auction will benefit cultural institutions in Berlin.

Please note that the running time of the auction has been shortened to 10 days.
