About the auction
The Contemporary Online Auction this spring brings together highlights from over 60 years of contemporary art in diverse media such as painting, sculpture, works on paper and photography. Among them are Norbert Schwontkowski's melancholy view into the vastness of the "puszta", Rainer Fetting's wondrous fish creatures and Imi Knoebel's colour-intensive collages, as well as two delicate drawings by Albert Oehlen and Andy Warhol. The selection is completed by works on paper by Per Kirkeby, Paloma Varga Weisz and Markus Lüpertz, editions by the American pop artists Keith Haring and Roy Lichtenstein as well as the French nouveau réalistes Yves Klein and Martial Raysse. The medium of sculpture comes up in such diverse forms as Michael Sailstorfer's "Cloud" made of truck hoses, the "Clock Rock" made of lava stone by Klaus Weber or an early prototype of a "serial object" by Kuno Gonschior.
