About the auction

A world sensation awaits you in our evening auction on 1 December 2022: Max Beckmann´s enigmatic “Selbstbildnis gelb-rosa”, painted in 1943 during his exile in Amsterdam. The painting is the prime lot of our diverse selection, which ranges from Dutch Golden Age painting to Pop Art and Viennese Actionism. Another rarity is the 1920 painting “Katzen (Theodor Däubler gewidmet)” by Otto Dix – one of the few Dadaist works by the artist not yet a museum property. German Impressionism also remains a special focus, this time impressively represented by Max Liebermann with no fewer than six important paintings from different creative periods.
