From Beuys to Liebermann – Selected Works

About the auction

We have put together our evening auction of selected works across departments - because we are convinced of different visual dialogues and references. With our selection we are reacting to a constantly changing art reception, whose perspective is constantly broadening

Rather than present a linear narrative, we throw open multiple chapters simultaneously. Because we believe in a shared and permeable narrative.

We want to bring artworks into dialogue with one another, to bridge contrasting worlds and weave new stories. What happens when you join Georg Tappert with Joseph Beuys, François Morellet with Alexej von Jawlensky, Pablo Picasso with Peter Halley, or René Magritte with 18th century Meissen porcelain? What is our perception? What expectations are challenged? Do we achieve a harmonious pairing or do we see conflicting principles collide?
