Oil on canvas. Relined. 80 × 100 cm (31 ½ × 39 ⅜ in.). Signed and dated upper right: Feininger 16. On the stretcher a printed label: GALERIE NEUE KUNST HANS GOLTZ MÜNCHEN BRIENNERSTRASSE No. 8. Inscribed in pen and black ink: Lyonel Feininger „Vollersroda III“ No. 10 335. Beside this a printed label numbered with typewriter: KLEEMANN GALLERIES 65 East 57 ST. New York. No. K 4803. Catalogue raisonné: Moeller 174 („Kirche von Vollersroda III“) / Hess 164. Supplement: undated, handwritten photo-postcard of the painting of Lyonel Feininger to the previous owner Frank Loesser. Achim Moeller, director of the Lyonel Feininger Project LLC, New York – Berlin, has confirmed the authenticity of this work, it is registered in the archive of the Lyonel Feininger Project as number 2005-03-25-25. The work is registered in the Lyonel Feininger: The Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings by Achim Moeller as number 174. A certificate is enclosed.
