Parting with beloved works of art can be an emotional affair. Eight reasons why your works will be in the best of hands with Grisebach:
Appraisal
Once you send us an appraisal request, we will review your artworks to determine their value. Subsequently, you will receive an estimate from us along with a proposal including the auction terms we have coordinated with you. The estimate is free of charge and non-binding.
Advice
Our specialists from the Modern Art, 19th Century and Contemporary Art departments are available to assist you at any time throughout the entire consignment and auction process.
Transport
The artworks to be sold should be with us in Berlin at least eight weeks prior to the auction. We will be happy to organize professional transport services for you. The works entrusted to us will be insured at our expense.
Cataloguing
Our specialists in Berlin will catalogue your works. This includes thoroughly checking and describing all works, verifying their provenance, and producing images.
Auctions & results
We cordially invite you to attend our preview tour and the auction in Berlin. If you are unable to do so, you are welcome to follow our auctions online via live stream. Shortly after the auction, we will send you a statement listing the objects you have consigned and the individual results they achieved.
Payment
Account settlement and payout will take place within four weeks of the auction date.
Network
Our decades of experience and our global network of more than 1,000 experts enables us to offer you customized advice, precise estimates, and first-class brokerage services. Each year, we hold over 60 events at our Berlin villa, at our representative offices and in partner galleries.
Provenance
The provenance of an artwork is of great importance. This makes meticulous research, including tracing and interpreting all relevant information, integral to our work. We consider this a key aspect of our professional responsibility as a renowned, internationally active auction house.
