Bronze with dark brown patina, mounted on a marble base. 30,8 × 12 × 24,8 cm (12 ⅛ × 4 ¾ × 9 ¾ in.). Signed on the plinth at the back on the right: A. GAUL. At the back left on the short side of the plinth with the foundry mark: H.NOACK BERLIN. Catalogue raisonné: Catalogue raisonné: Gabler 272. Posthumous cast.

Model for the Schwanenbrunnen (swan fountain) for Leo Lewin, Wrocław. The textile producer was a great collector of August Gaul sculptures and had commissioned the artist with the design for a fountain for his new villa in Wroclaw, designed by the architect Oskar Kaufmann.
