Information

Bronze with dark brown patina. 32,3 × 32 × 12 cm (12 ¾ × 12 ⅝ × 4 ¾ in.). Signed on the plinth: A. GAUL. There too the monogram stamp: AG [in a circle]. On the short side of the plinth, below the left hind leg, the foundry mark: H.NOACK BERLIN FRIEDENAU. Catalogue raisonné: See Gabler 189 („Modell Sicherndes Reh“). Presumably only one bronze cast (height: 33,5 cm) of this sculpture, marked as a "model", was produced during the artist's lifetime. Here is one of the estate casts made from the mid-1920s.
