Old women
Wise, bold and free - it's time to listen to old women
Age is not an end, but a new beginning. Women like Vivian Gornick, Jane Campbell, Carmen Herrera, Lucinda Childs and Ulrike Edschmid show this. Some have reinvented themselves, others have kept going and then achieved their international breakthrough as artists and writers in old age. They are courageous, demand nothing, but take what they need. A book about freedom in old age beyond.

Verena Lueken shaped the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung for many years as an author and critic with articles on film, literature, feminist and American topics. She was honoured with the International Journalism Prize and the Michael Althen Prize for Criticism for her journalistic work. Her Instructions for New York became a longseller and bestseller. Her novels Alles zählt and Anderswo were enthusiastically acclaimed by the press. Verena Lueken lives in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin.

Julia Voss is an art historian, art critic, curator and, since 2021, a research assistant in the Presidium of the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. These are her topics of interest currently: Hilma af Klint, the documenta in Kassel, German history and How does a museum become sustainable?
