The Dresden-based artist Hermann Glöckner was and remains regarded as the ‘patriarch of modernism’. Through his works, which embody a unique combination of constructive-geometric thinking, nuanced surface textures and experimentation with materials, he has made a significant contribution to art that continues to influence the future. The online only auction brings together 104 predominantly small-scale sculptural works in a wide variety of materials.
The lots on offer can be viewed at Villa Grisebach in Berlin during the summer auctions’ preview, which runs from 28 May to 3 June.
