Each oil on canvas. 125 x 125 cm (49 ¼ x 49 ¼ in.). Signed and dated (incised into the wet paint) in each, the upper left and right margin of the recto: Molzahn 31. Catalogue raisonné: Gries 186 A and 187 B.

There is a so-called fly box depicted in the lower left corner of the painting. This is a box of insect patterns equipped with hooks that serve as bait in trout fishing..
