Charcoal on grey Ingres laid paper. 30,1 x 40 cm (11 ⅞ x 15 ¾ in.). Signed, titled and dated below in pencil: Meid Bergamo 28. Travel sketch from Northern Italy, which he used as a study for his oil painting "Piazza Donizetti in Bergamo" 1929 (cf. catalogue the exhibition "Hans Meid, Welt und Gegenwelt" Berlin Ephraim-Palais 2008, p. 240).
