Information

Commesso in pietre dure e tenere (slate and predominantly Bohemian semi-precious stones: agate, amethyst, white agate, jasper, petrified wood). 9 x 12 cm, frame: 21 x 23 cm (3 ½ x 4 ¾ in., frame: 8 ¼ x 9 in.). Reverse, label on the later-added frame: Ständige Ausstellung für Kunst und Kunstgewerbe (added by hand) No 1678, with red crayon: 4/62. On the back of the image, added by hand: E.S.I No 14. On the reverse, a supporting slate piece patterned with regular bored holes, allowing the object to be held in place, for example as a decorative panel of a small cabinet. Framed
