Bronze cast produced through Achille Collas (1795–1859). Bronze, cast; red-brown patina / black stone base (presumably slate), profiled. 25 cm (42,5 cm with base) (9 ⅞ in. (16 ¾ in. with base)). AL.DRE de Humboldt / P.J. DAVID / 1844 / foundry mark Collas: REDUCTION MÉCANIQUE, A COLLAS BREVETE / On the underside of the base the number, carved into the stone: NCI 988 / Remains of a wax seal.
