Comparable objects: death masks in the Vienna Museum, Gustav-Mahler-Gesellschaft, Vienna (each with large neck area, allegedly shaped by Anton Sandig) / Médiathèque Musicale Mahler, Paris (this from the collection of Alfred Roller and with a short neck).

From the collection of Helene Pührmayer, editor at the 1923-founded Zsolnay-Verlag (there in contact Anna Mahler-Zsolnay (1904–1988), the daughter of the composer) / her sister Friederike Stojan, born Pührmayer (died 1981) / thence by descent to the present owner, Austria
