Signed on the rocks lower left: JvRuisdael (JvR joined, partly worked over) / on the frame on the reverse in red chalk: Rohde; in white chalk: 52 / On the reverse on the stretcher a label of the stationer A. Binant, Paris. Catalogue raisonné: Accompanied by a certificate by Wilhelm von Bode, Berlin, dated 25 March 1924, where described as a "sehr sympathisches Werk des Jacob van Ruisdael aus seiner mittleren Zeit (um 1665/70)“ (in the original). Relined. In a 19th century frame after 18th century English examples (92,5 x 79 cm). Framed
