Oil on oak. 60,3 x 53 cm (23 ¾ x 20 ⅞ in.). Monogrammed and dated lower right: BBreenberg f. At - 1638. Catalogue raisonné: Accompanied by a certificate by Max J. Friedländer, Berlin, dated 28 November 1926, where described as a "reizvolles, echt signiertes Werk von B. Breenbergh“ (in the original). Catalogue raisonné Roethlisberger 1981, no. 191. The panel seems to have been trimmed at the side, some time after 1928, in the course of which the upper portion of the ruin has been covered. Panel with bevelled edge on all sides.. Framed
