Information

Gelatin silver print, 1948. 23,8 × 18,4 cm (9 ⅜ × 7 ¼ in.). Laid down on original cardboard, thereupon signed in pencil lower right, lower left with an attached strip of paper with imprinted image and edition number as well as the notation: "Portfolio I“, and numbered in pencil. On the reverse the stamp: "PRINT NO. ... OF SET NO. ..., OF PORT­FOLIO ONE BY ANSEL ADAMS, 1948, ...“, therein with red coloured pencil the image and edition number. Further stamp: "GEORGE EASTMAN HOUSE, Redundant/Removed date“, therein in pencil: "2/11/03“ and inscribed. Inscribed and numbered in pencil by various hands as well as numbered in red coloured pencil. One of 12 motifs, and one of 75 editioned prints, from the portfolio One: Twelve Photographic Prints, published by Ansel Adams, self-published, San Francisco 1948.
