Pen in black-grey over pencil on beige-coloured paper. 22 × 26,1 cm (8 ⅝ × 10 ¼ in.). Monogrammed (joined) and dated lower right: 18 JSC 58. Dated lower left: d. 31 Decmbr. Preliminary drawing relating to the woodcut for the "Bilderbibel“ of 1860, plate 132 (2nd Book of Kings, chapter 19, verses 32-35). Small, skillfully repaired loss.
