Pen and brown ink, wash, and bluish watercolour over pencil on light brown paper. 14,3 × 18,8 cm (image: 13,2 × 18,8 cm) (5 ⅝ × 7 ⅜ in. (image: 5 ¼ × 7 ⅜ in.)). Monogrammed lower left in the upper surround stone of the well-chamber entrance: L R. Monogrammed and inscribed in pencil left below the image: L. R. Del[ineavit]. Titled in the centre: Castel Gandolfo. Design for the etching of the same name (Hoff/Budde 215) from the portfolio with six etchings: Malerische Ansichten aus den Umgebungen von Rom. Leipzig, Press of C. G. Börner, 1832.
