Information

Watercolour (presumably at a later date) over pencil on four attached sheets laid paper (watermark: VAN DER LEY and signet „Fortuna“ over VDL). 44,5 × 113,5 cm (17 ½ × 44 ⅝ in.). Inscribed in pencil in the upper margin: weisliche klare Wolken. Inscribed in pencil on the reverse lower left crosswise: Haller von Hallerstein Aquarell–Original Griechenland. Vertical handling creases. Minimal staining. Minor imperfections in the margins.

We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Hansgeorg Bankel, Munich/Lauf at the Pegnitz, for confirming the autheticity of the drawing and the indication of the presumably subsequent handcolouring.
