Inscription with pen and brown ink on the reverse: Diese Skizze malte Arnold Boecklin am 18 October 1851 in Frascati bei Rom. Study for Louis Gurlitts painting „Albaner Berge“ (1850) in the Nationalgalerie, Berlin. Minor retouchings. Framed
