The work is dedicated to Hidalgo Arnéra, Picassos long-term printer who specialised in linocuts. Picasso met him 1954 through Suzanne Ramié in Vallauris and worked closely with him from that summer onwards. In the follwing years the two of them produced numerous linocuts, experiencing with the possibilities of the technique aiming to bring it to perfection. .
