Oil on canvas. 122 × 175,5 cm (48 × 69 ⅛ in.). Signed and dated lower right: EUGEN BRACHT 1915. Inscribed and titled with the work number in black brush on the reverse: 1435. „Templerschloß“. On the stretcher a label of the Leipzig art association and the Munich annual exhibition 1916. Framed

The painting will be offered with the explicit consent of the heirs of Karl Mayer.

A loan request has been placed for the painting from the Institute Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt, for an exhibition on the Municipal Art Collection Darmstadt (2022).

Gustav Adolf Trier, Darmstadt (acquired in 1917 directly from the artist, until 1919) / Karl Mayer, grandchild of G. A. Trier, Darmstadt (obtained presumably in 1919 by inheritance, until 1936) / Municipal Art Collection, Darmstadt (inv. no. 270 MA; acquired in 1936, restituted in 2021 to the heirs of Karl Mayer)
