Friedrich Otto Hasse (1886–1964) joined the Bremen chocolate factory Hachez in 1911 and invented their famous "brown leaves“ in 1924, a trademark of the firm to this day. He is considered a knowledgeable art collector and owned paintings by Georges Braque, James Ensor and Oskar Kokoschka
