Bronze with greenish patina. 75 × 28 × 17 cm (29 ½ × 11 × 6 ¾ in.). Titled on the plinth at the front: APHRODITE. Monogrammed and dated at the back: AL [in a circle] 1912. On the reverse on the plinth the foundry mark: Cast by Griffoul Newark N. J.

The Norwegian-American sculptor Arthur Lee was married to since 1911 with Thilda Colsmans childhood friend Freddie Döhle (Bremen 1887–1971 Newtown) since 1911. Adalbert and Thilda Colsman had strong ties with the couple. .
