Information

Oil on canvas. 70,5 × 60,3 cm (27 ¾ × 23 ¾ in.). Monogrammed on the right above the centre: SD. On the reverse signed and dated in wax crayon in red: S Dacey 2010.

Condition Report: Harmonious overall appearance. The canvas is not relined and mounted on the original stretcher. The outer edges and corners slightly scuffed. In the upper margin left of centre one small tear (approx. 1 cm); here the paint layer cracked. The heavy impasto paint areas, mainly in the lower image area, in places with slightly scuff marks being slightly sticky due to the artist's technique. In the lower right corner a small piece of cigarette filter enclosed as part of the work. Ultraviolet light reveals no retouchings or repairs. On the reverse with traces from the artist's workshop
