Information

Watercolour, gouache, opaque white and charcoal on heavy wove paper. 49,2 × 39,9 cm (19 ⅜ × 15 ¾ in.). In the lower right signed in charcoal and post-dated in coloured pencil in purple: Ed Kesting 1915.

Condition Report: Excellent, harmonious overall appearance. The colours fresh and luminous. The sheet edges without tears or losses; isolated with small nicks. The lower left corner bumped and with diagonal creases. The paper with minimal time staining. In the upper left margin two small faint dents in the paper. In the upper left in the yellow paint area material-related signs of paint shrinkage in the pastose paint layer. Ultraviolet light reveals no retouchings or repairs. On the reverse with traces from the artist's workshop and light scuff marks
