Oil and mixed media on canvas. 149 × 198 cm (58 ⅝ × 78 in.). Titled, signed and dated on the reverse: Altes Tier wirft sein Blut ab Gustav Kluge 88. On the stretcher a typographically printed label with work information of the Akira Ikeda Gallery, Nagoya/Tokyo [differing date of origin].

Condition Report: Harmonious overall appearance. The canvas is not relined and mounted on the original stretcher. Along the left edge in places paper residue stuck to the paint surface. At upper edge on the right isolated minimal pinpoint paint loss. The upper paint layers in places broken open, inherent to the artist's technique and the process. In the impasto areas, in places signs of paint shrinkage. Ultraviolet light reveals no retouchings or repairs
