Watercolour on tempera priming on paper, laid down on cardboard by the artist and there, above and below the sheet, decorated with a border in watercolour and pen. 35,1 x 21 cm (48,1 x 34,2 cm) (13 ⅞ x 8 ¼ in. (18 ⅞ x 13 ½ in.)). Signed in pen lower left: Klee. Dated and titled on the cardboard: 1931 N.4 Starr-beflügelt. On the cardboard backing a label of Saidenberg Gallery and New Gallery, both New York, as well as of Galerie Beyeler, Basel. Catalogue raisonné: Paul-Klee-Stiftung 5489. The sheet in places with light scuff marks to the edges, the cardboard with foxing. Framed
