Handwriting on vellum, illuminated / leather binding presumably 18th century. 8°.
Red lines, text area averaging 9,7 x 6,2 cm, 15 lines (calendar: 16), in a single column. As textura a French lettre bâtarde in brown ink, several hands identifiable. Rubrications in red ink. Near the orations, psalms etc. one- to two-line gold initials on blue or red ground and four-line blue initials (heightened with red and white) on gold ground. Borders accompanying the text averaging 9,7 x 3,3 cm. Richly decorated borders with tendrils of thorn and vine leaves, partly gilt, blue-yellow acanthus, flowers, fruits and depictions of animals on vellum-coloured or yellow ground. Numerous drolleries (mythical creatures, hybrid creatures, wild men, etc.). Both the miniatures and the borders are in their motifs and their style identifable as from the circle of the Master of the Rouen Échevinage (active approx. 1450-1480) and datable to circa 1470.
No endpaper / parts: VI12 + (V-1)21 + 7 IV77 + 2 II85 + IV93 + III98 + 4 IV130 + III135 + (IV-1)142. Before folio 13 at least 1 part with losses to the text. Foliation in pencil on the recto-pages upper right (1-141), last folio side not inscribed, fol. 31/32 missed out.
