Solid oak, solid walnut, veneered onto oak, gilt; bronze fittings, gilt. 230 x 135 x 74 cm (90 ½ x 53 ⅛ x 29 ⅛ in.). On reverse of the base inscribed in paint: 63 H; on the writing surface: 83 H; label: Eisenbahn-Directions-Bezirk Magdeburg Berlin B.P.M; inscribed with blue chalk: 1779. Losses to the veneer, veneer split on the writing surface, cracks.
