Information

15 gelatin silver prints in hand-made album, 1966. Each approx. 18,5 × 13,9 cm (7 ¼ × 5 ½ in.). Each photo with stamp on the reverse: "ÉPREUVE ORIGINALE Atelier Man Ray PARIS". Each individually mounted on album page (29.5 x 23.5 cm), made of strong white cardboard. The half title with a laid down photo in an embossed frame with the inscription: „Man Ray les mannequins“, frontispiece with copyright notice, title page with the imprint: "RÉSURRECTION DES MANNEQUINS - JEAN PETITHORY, Paris 1966" and second title page with the imprint: "Mannequins présentés à l’Exposition Surréaliste de 1938 - Texte & Photographies de Man Ray". Followed by two printed pages, the first of which is with artists' names, the second with an introductory text by Man Ray. Edition information, edition number, and signature of Man Ray in pencil on the second to last page. Further edition information on last page. Bound together in a gold-coloured cover designed by Man Ray (30.2 x 26.5 x 3 cm), and executed by Atelier Mercher, Paris. One of 30 + 7 editioned copies, ed. Jean Petithory, Paris 1966.
