The pastel was once in the residence of Theodor and Marie Wiegand in Berlin Dahlem. Theodor Wiegand war an archeologist and among other things director of the Berlin Pergamonmuseum. The house built and furnished by the architect Peter Behrens for the Wiegand family still exists, under the name „Haus Wiegand“ it today houses the Deutsche Archäologische Institut..
