Charcoal, heightened with chalk and opaque white, on greenish paper, laid down by the artist on a sheet of brown paper, over a sheet of white paper. 46,2 x 30,8 cm (18 ¼ x 12 ⅛ in. ). On the brown mount paper below the image to the right titled, inscribed and signed in pen and black ink: Ein Müller-Lied zum 30. Novbr 1866 von C. G. Carus. In the right margin slight scuff marks. Laid down on cardboard. Framed
