Porcelain, coloured overglaze painting. 6,7 cm; Ø 43 cm (2 ⅝ in.; Ø 16 ⅞ in.). Crossed swords mark in blue underglaze; carved, blackened palace number: N=217- / w; incised mark: V; imprinted mark: cross in a circle.

Japanese Palace inventory 1770: "Achtzehn Stück detto [= große Schüßeln, mit gemuschelten überschlagenen und gegatterten Rändern, inwendig kleine Indianis. Blümgen gemahlt], etwas kleiner, 3 Zoll tief, 18 1/2. Zoll in Diam: No. 217", with the later undated revision: "17. Stück"; published by Claus Boltz; in: KERAMOS. Zeitschrift der Gesellschaft der Kermikfreunde, vol. 153 (July 1996), p. 82..
