Information

Woodcut on thin Japan paper. 26,8 × 29,6 cm (37,5 × 39,5 cm) (10 ½ × 11 ⅝ in. (14 ¾ × 15 ½ in.)). Catalogue raisonné: Hoberg/Jansen 38 / Lankheit 839. An impression of the first edition of presumably at least 10 copies.

Condition Report: No. no. 10. Harmonious overall appearance. The sheet edges slightly soiled and in places with minuscule losses of substance (max. 0,6 cm), otherwise without tears. The paper, overall, slightly creased, particularly in the upper corners as well as in the lower margin; this partially due to a former mounting on the reverse. In the upper right corner of the motif, a hairline, hardly visible incision (5,2 cm) and, at the motif's lower edge to the left, one small V-shaped tear (1,2 and 1,4 cm), expertly fibre-backed with Japan paper on the reverse. Running along the edges of the motif, some barely visible to slightly more noticeable scuff marks from the mat window. Isolated, faint spots, enclosed particles and, on the upper right sheet edge, one brownish fingerprint. On the reverse, in the upper corners remnants of various paper adhesive mountings
