Brush in black and pencil on light, brownish cardboard. 52 × 35 cm. (20 ½ × 13 ¾ in.) On the cardboard backing at the bottom an attached paper fragment, inscribed in pen and black ink: Paolo Medini gewidmet von Lucidus Diefenbach. Salo, January 1896. Catalogue raisonné: Not in the catalogue raisonné by Wagner.. Design for sheet 1 of the portfolio „Kindermusik“ (1881-86). Produced after a photograph of the older son Helios. Before the departure to Egypt 1896 the family Diefenbach resided in Salò on Lake Garda in the villa Medini. The sheet is a parting gift of the younger son Lucidus Diefenbach to the landlord. Slightly warped. Imperfections in the margin. [3055]
