1. Consulting
After we have appraised your artwork in its original form, we will propose an agreement to you that sets out the individually arranged auction terms & conditions. The personal consultant assigned to you will be happy to discuss any estimates and reserve prices and to answer any other questions you may have.
2. Shipping
The deadline for submitting an artwork will be roughly eight weeks before the auction date, by which time the artworks to be auctioned must arrive at our premises in Berlin. We will be happy to organize professional shipping on your behalf. The works you entrust to us will be insured at all times.
3. Cataloguing
The deadline for inclusion in our catalogue is four weeks before the auction date. Until that time, our experts at Grisebach in Berlin will be cataloguing the various works consigned. This will include performing a careful examination of your artwork and preparing a description, along with research into the work’s provenance.
4. Online catalogue
Our auction catalogues will be placed online four weeks before the auction date.
5. Mail-out of the catalogue
Once the catalogue has been printed (about three weeks before the auction date), you automatically will be sent a complimentary consignor’s copy.
6. Preview / auction
You are cordially invited to attend our preliminary showing and the auction itself. The invitation will be sent out about three weeks prior to the auction date.
7. Final results
Shortly after the auction, you will receive a notification from us listing the objects you have consigned and the results achieved for each of them.
8. Settlement of accounts
We will settle accounts with you once we have received payment from the buyer.
9. Post-auction sales
In the event your artwork remains unsold, it will be re-offered at the reserve price in a post-auction sale eight weeks after the auction date.
10. Disbursement of proceeds
The proceeds from a successful auction sale will be disbursed to you within four weeks of our receipt of payment from the buyer. We usually render payment via bank transfer and in EUR.
