Later gelatin silver print. 39,2 × 58 cm (50,4 × 60,5 cm) (15 ⅜ × 22 ⅞ in. (19 ⅞ × 23 ⅞ in.)). Signed, titled and inscribed in black ink on the image in the lower centre by Peter Beard: „Moite Bay, Lake Rudolf; hatching crocs / Peter Beard BOX 47616 NBI" as well as inscribed on the upper margin of the image: „'So soon as the young ones are hatched they fall instantly into the water; but if they meet with a frog, snail or any other such thing fit for their meat, they do presently tear it to pieces.' (Boreham) from Eyelids of Morning, the mingled Destinies of crocodyles + men". Photographer's copyright stamp on the reverse: „© Peter H. Beard / The Time is Always Now, 476 Broome St., NYC, NY 10013 (212) 343 2211“ and label with typed numbering as well as numbered by an unknown hand in pencil. Exhibition stamp on the reverse of the frame: „Peter Beard, Stress & Density, Camera Work Berlin, Germany" as well as photographer's and copyright stamp: „© Peter H.
